THE DAY OF RECKONING

If we are not prepared from the beginning of time for the events that will mark our lives, then we must accept whatever is thrown into our arms.

Brenda A. Ysaguirre

The seniors in our three programmes are on the last leg of their studies. Exams are over and the grades are coming in and at the end of next week they will know exactly you is graduating and who isn't.

As we look back in time to the years leading to this glorius day, we are thankful to the many people who helped to make this a success.

Special thanks to the teachers who lectured during the hours of 6pm to 10:30pm from Monday to Thursday and on whose shoulders were set the task of lecturing and guiding the students.

Special thanks also to the parents and spouses who assisted so that the students could be in school. Whether you assisted financially, morally or by just being there for the student, I thank you. Your support has helped for this day to arrive.

KEEP UP THE HARD WORK THIRD YEARS OF CCC ACE

To want knowledge so badly that it hurts, is the proof that you have learnt the first phase in acquiring knowledge.

Brenda A Ysaguirre

This is the second day of the CSEC examinations. I made a mistake yesterday. It was the Accounting exam that the students sat. Today they are sitting the English CSEC exam. I am proud to say that my students entered the examination room full of energy and the belief in YO PUEDO - I CAN. It is fundamental that we understand that these students have had very little time with juggling school, work, and family. They come from the Adult and Continuing Division of the Corozal Community College. I applaud their efforts and wish them well.

Love Always and Forever for my YO PUEDO CLASS,

MsB

NU METAL, HIP HOP AND

MUSIC IS THE BEST COMFORTER OF ALL TIMES AND WE CAN TRUST IT TO BE SINCERE. Brenda A. Ysaguirre

What's new about Nu Metal?
Nu metal is a musical genre that emerged in the mid 1990s which fuses influences from grunge and alternative metal with funk music, hip hop and various heavy metal genres, such as thrash metal and groove metal. Nu metal music emphasizes mood, rhythm, and texture over melody. Often, nu metal songs use rhythmic, syncopated riffs played on distorted electric guitars with strings detuned to lower pitches to create a dark and thick sound.

How Much Up and Down Movement is involved in Hip Hop?
Hip hop is both a cultural movement and a genre of music developed in New York City in the 1970s. The four historic "elements" of hip hop are: MCing (rapping), DJing, urban inspired art/tagging (graffiti), and b-boying (or breakdancing). The most known "extended" elements are beatboxing, hip hop fashion, and hip hop slang. When hip hop music developed in the 1970s, it was originally based around DJs who created rhythmic beats by "scratching" a record on one turntable while looping the break (an upbeat drum and rhythm phrase of a song often found in soul and funk music) of various records on another, which was later joined by the "rapping" (a rhythmic style of chanting) of MCs.

How etched is Acid Jazz?
Acid jazz (also known as club jazz) is a musical genre that combines elements of soul music, funk, disco, particularly looping beats and modal harmony. It developed over the 1980s and 1990s and could be seen as tacking the sound of jazz-funk onto electronic dance/pop music.

A LITTLE NEWS ITEM THAT WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH

My Dear Students and Readers,

Sometimes people can do strange things and that is what makes them unique.

If on the journey through life you are one such person I am sure we will get to know about it. We will share your glory or defeat. Either way we will be there with open arms and kind words because that is what we learnt this year besides all the Math and English, Spanish, Accounting and Computer Science ( right!) and for those not in school who read this blog, all the things that you learnt. The imprtant thing is that you will learn to be a better person through that which you do. The main point to remember is that YOU CAN NOT GIVE THAT WHICH YOU DO NOT HAVE. So find in your hearts those qualities we spoke about or read the YO PUEDO blog or the papers we gave you. Especially the last papers you got this week. I will be translating soe of the last entries that are in Sopanish eventully on this blog page so keep looking out for them. Strengthen your character and remember there is much to be found in silence.

Read the entry below. Strange but true!

Love always,

Ms B

Teen Inflates 213 balloons with his NOSE!!
BLAINE, Wash. (UPI) -- A 13-year-old Blaine, Wash., boy said he believes he has set a world record by inflating 213 balloons with his nose in the space of an hour. Andrew Dahl, who credited playing the trumpet with giving him his lung strength, said Guinness World Records refused to certify his videotaped previous attempt at the feat, 184 balloons in an hour, because he did not tie the balloons himself, The Bellingham (Wash.) Herald reported Tuesday. However, Dahl said this time he did all of his own tying, and the attempt was captured by multiple video cameras and witnessed by numerous friends and family. The teenager said he expects to hear back from Guinness within a few weeks regarding whether his latest attempt qualifies for the Book of World Records. Dahl's father, Doug, said he measured each balloon after it was inflated to ensure it met the minimum diameter, 20 centimeters (about 7.9 inches) and the boy's mother, Wendy, kept a running tally of Andrew's nose-inflated balloons during the event. The teen said he has been inflating balloons with his nose since he was 7-years-old. "When we had barbecues or get-togethers I'd do it just to show that I could," he said.

FOOTPRINTS, PIGEONS. EELS AND PEPPER

If knowledge were sold in stores, I would hope everyone would rush out and buy some everyday! (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

How long will our footprints be on the moon?
The footprints left by the Apollo astronauts will not erode since there is no wind or water on the Moon. The footprints should last at least 10 million years.

Do pigeons get lonely?
The female pigeon cannot lay eggs if she is alone. In order for her ovaries to function, she must be able to see another pigeon. If no other pigeon is available, her own reflection in a mirror will suffice.

Why are electric eels different than other fish?
Unlike most fish, electric eels cannot get enough oxygen from water. Approximately every five minutes, they must surface to breathe, or they will drown. Unlike most fish, they can swim both backwards and forwards.

Is pepper good for your headache?
A recent study found that 75 percent of headache patients felt relief when they rubbed capsaicin (the component that makes chile peppers hot) on their nose.

VOCABULARY WORD NO. 18

Dear Students and Blog Readers,
It is that time of the year that i dislike the most in the education system in which I work. Graduation and farewell are on the way. Next week my Third Years will be finish with school and after that they will be back for only a few days and then, if they don't pursue their tertiaru level education at night, seeing them will be minimal.

I have grown to love and care for this group because above all they became a special class of students with the programme I implemented to motivate them into being better youths, husbands, wives, adults and Belizeans. It was the easiest thing to have done and they respnded to YO PUEDO with an energy and a happiness that has left me complete. If my world were to end tomorrow, I would be happy with the knowledge that the 22 students in the class grew to love themselves, each other and the people around them with honesty and a sincere desire to be more than just an averge person. Indeed, they have proven to me that there is the possibility of good to come from programmes that are not scholastically based but which can teach us to be more than we are, to be better than average, to be willing to help others and to yearn for more.

Thrid Years, remember that you can be all you want to be,. You can achieve anyhing you set your mind to. You just have to remember the two little words that can take you to the heights of your success - YO PUEDO -- I CAN. Once you realize that YOU CAN do anything you set your heart to, you will be able to attain your goals and achieve all that you set out to achieve.

Before I close don't forget to look at the word below. It's just another word to add to those you are learning.

Best Wishes and Love always,
Brenda A. Ysaguirre
Director/Teacher

LIFE WITHOUT LOVE AND FRIENDS IS MEANINGLESS

If we live life and are blessed with friends who make us feel love and affection we are kings and queens of our world, for life without friendship and love is meaningless. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

Dear Students and Readers,
The time is fast approaching when our lives will be changed forever. Be prepared for the many obstacles and hardships that come with change. Look them straight in the face and you will be able to overcome them. Talk your problems over with someone you can really trust and who trusts you. Eventually you will see that this is the theme of life. It is LIFE! So, eventually you will get use to it and life will become bearable. Just remember to have love in your hearts always and hug and kiss those around you as often as you can.
Yours always,
Ms. B

THE CLASS OF 6 - 2 B - A FAREWELL POEM

Written for the Class of 6-2B of the Corozal Junior College ACE Division,

With Love, from Ms. B

You have been a unique class,

And I am sure you will not be the last,

To make me upset or to make me laugh,

But I am happy that a few of you are going off.

Rodrigo, you've come from far away each day,

To listen to what the lecturers have to say.

I wish you the best in your future endeavours,

May you see the fruit of all your late hours.

Ruben, boy, you are surely special,

Your time at school is few but you expect all,

And your lecturers shake their heads and say,

This boy is different in every way.

Rocio, the first year was spent on skipping classes

That's why you had so few passes,

But when you put your mind to it you can,

You just need to settle down and have a plan.

Neomi, are you going to surprise us soon,

Even though you're singing to a different tune.

You settled down this year without Raquel,

So for that I can now wish you well.

Maricela, they broke the mould after creating you,

You often got on my nerves saying those things you do,

But deep inside we became friends,

And I promise we will be so until the every end.

Shyami, you are the brain in the lot,

I can say and really mean that.

So use your knowledge wisely and don't forget,

There is so much for you to learn as yet!

Alberto, you are a one of a kind guy,

Who loves to have fun and I can tell why.

Your dances on stage will never be forgotten,

Keep on enjoying life and remember all that happened.

Sheena, I see that guy courting you,

Buying you soft drinks and making you smile, too.

Stay on track, dear girl, and get your degree,

And one day you'll have success for all to see.

Roraima, your dedication is great,

And you were just about never late.

Your smile and your friendliness,

Makes you one of 6-2B's best.

Abinadi, now that's a name I won't forget,

You have not made me angry yet!

You smile and are a funny person everywhere,

Remember you can be a success anywhere.

Yanarie, you loved missing school,

And doing little things aganist the rule,

But you are kind and filled with happiness sincere,

You are definitely one of my daughters dear.

Now students of 6-2B I add you to the list,

Of all the children that I won't miss,

For we will keep in touch throughout the years,

And thanks for adding to my grey hairs!

So, Class of 6-2 B,

You mean a lot to me,

And I will keep you in my heart,

When the time comes for us to be apart.
