FOOTPRINTS, PIGEONS. EELS AND PEPPER

If knowledge were sold in stores, I would hope everyone would rush out and buy some everyday! (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

How long will our footprints be on the moon?
The footprints left by the Apollo astronauts will not erode since there is no wind or water on the Moon. The footprints should last at least 10 million years.

Do pigeons get lonely?
The female pigeon cannot lay eggs if she is alone. In order for her ovaries to function, she must be able to see another pigeon. If no other pigeon is available, her own reflection in a mirror will suffice.

Why are electric eels different than other fish?
Unlike most fish, electric eels cannot get enough oxygen from water. Approximately every five minutes, they must surface to breathe, or they will drown. Unlike most fish, they can swim both backwards and forwards.

Is pepper good for your headache?
A recent study found that 75 percent of headache patients felt relief when they rubbed capsaicin (the component that makes chile peppers hot) on their nose.
